COMPETITION CATEGORIES AND AGE REQUIREMENTS
NewComers Section
- Junior: Ages seven (7) to twelve (12)
- Varsity: Ages thirteen (13) to seventeen (17)
- Adult: Ages eighteen (18) and older
- other categories may be added if there is sufficient interest
Newcomers are National Champions only
World Championship Qualification Section
- Junior: Ages seven (7) to twelve (12)
- Varsity: Ages thirteen (13) to seventeen (17)
- Adult: Ages eighteen (18) and older
- MiniCrew: Three dancers. There are no age or gender restrictions – all ages may participate
- JV MegaCrew: 10 – 40 Dancers under 18 years old
- MegaCrew: 10 – 40 dancers. There are no age restrictions – all ages may participate
- World Battles UK – no age division
Age Requirement Note:
A crewmember whose age falls between two age divisions in the competition year (ending December 31) may compete in either division within that year.
Example: A 12-year-old turning 13 by December 31, 2021 may compete in the Junior or Varsity division. Likewise, a 17-year-old turning 18 within the competition year (by 12/31/2021) can compete as a Varsity or Adult. Each participant’s proof of age (indicating date of birth) will be verified by HHI.

Del Mak is an internationally respected creative director, judge and filmmaker. He has worked with some of the biggest names in the business, including Nike, M.I.A., Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, Netflix, L’Oreal. His work has been featured in dozens of TV shows, films and events. He is a highly sought-after expert on dance film and creative direction, and regularly judges at the world’s top dance competitions.
